Taber and District Community Adult Learning Association is a small non-profit organization in Taber, AB. We are professional, agile, and our goal is to Create a vibrant learning community.
We are looking for a part-time English language instructor to teach a Conversation English Class in Taber, AB. Class will be one evening per week for 2 hours, starting in October and continuing until December, with a possible second class from January to March.
Class will help students develop basic survival vocabulary and increase their confidence in communicating and understanding spoken English for daily life.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill the requirements of the curriculum
- Preparing and delivering English lessons for adult ESL and ESL literacy students based on resources provided.
- Adapting class content and difficulty to needs of students
- Facilitating a warm and welcoming learning environment
- Keeping attendance records and reporting concerns to program manager
- Provide individualized instruction to students who require extra support
- Assess students' progress and provide feedback on their performance
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Utilize various teaching methods and resources to engage students in the learning process
Requirements:
- TESOL certification or education degree preferred but not required.
- Past experience working with people with low English language skills is an asset.
Part-time hours: 2 per week
Expected start date: October 7, 2026
Job Types: Part-time, Contract
Salary: $25-27.50 per hour
- Previous experience in the field of EAL or literacy education would be a valuable asset, but is not mandatory.
Job Type: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 10 weeks
Pay: $25.00-$27.50 per hour
