Shoushin is a Michelin Starred Japanese sushi bar located in midtown Toronto. Helmed by owner and head chef Jackie Lin, the restaurant specializes in carefully crafted, authentic Japanese Edomae-style sushi. Shoushin offers an exclusive dining experience that combines tradition with luxury.
What we're looking for:
We are seeking a dedicated Fine Dining Server to join our team at Shoushin. With a focus on omotenashi, we are dedicated to looking after our guests. As part of our team you will get responsibility from the start, to take centre stage as our server.
Restaurant experience is important to us, but you don’t need to be a sushi expert yet – we will give you training so you can learn more about the world of Japanese sushi. What’s really important is that you have a passion for people – both the individuals in your team, and the people who visit our restaurant. You will take pleasure in making sure all guests receive top-notch, feel-good customer service, from first greeting to a warm see you next time.
Job Summary:
- Create warm hospitality for our guests, creating an experience that goes beyond food.
- Manage multiple groups of people.
- Working within a warm and cohesive team of individuals with a mix of skills and talents
- Bring a positive attitude, enjoying a lively and friendly atmosphere
- Constantly hone and develop your serving skills
- work 4-5 days a week, from 4:00pm until close
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a server in fine dining and hospitality
- Strong customer service/hospitality skill set
- Passion for learning
- Sushi and sake knowledge is an asset
- Knowledge in Japanese language/culture is an asset
- Excellent communication skills, being able to learn and explain menu items and options.
- Experience in POS systems, handling cash, gift cards.
- Smart serve certification
