We are looking for a strong, independent line cook who can handle our Saturday brunch service, primarily solo. (Additional shifts during the week can be available, depending on how many hours you're looking for.) The day starts at 8:30am with getting your line set, then the cafe opens from 9am - 2pm for breakfast and lunch. You'll run the line solo but will have a prep cook available for back up at peak times. You must be organized, clean, a strong cook, and above all, friendly and outgoing as you'll be working along side the baristas and interacting with customers in our open kitchen.
Responsibilities include:
- Prepping and executing various dishes before and during breakfast and lunch service.
- Greeting and interacting pleasantly with customers, as our service kitchen is open.
- Keep your work station pristinely clean and restocked.
- Prepping menu items for service and catering.
- Preparing your own prep list in addition to tasks assigned to you by your co-workers.
Requirements:
You must have a minimum of 2 years of experience working on a professional restaurant line. We value good work experience over a culinary degree, and a positive attitude and willingness to learn above all else. Knowledge of both classical cooking techniques and baking is a must. You must be detail-oriented and keep a clean station. Your work will be both as part of a team, and entirely independent, so you must excel at both. A valid food safety certificate is a plus, but if you don’t have a current one, we can help arrange for proper certification.
Availability requirements:
You must be available to work on Saturdays from 8:30am to 3pm, every weekend.
Pay:
Pay is competitive and the tips are great. Pay is bi-weekly and tips are given out weekly, distributed evenly among everyone based on hours worked.
