Job Summary
Banff Social is looking for a friendly, energetic, and professional Host/Hostess to join our Front of House team. This role includes subsidized staff housing and offers the opportunity to work in one of Banff's busiest and most exciting restaurants.
As the first point of contact for our guests, you'll play a key role in creating an exceptional dining experience from the moment they arrive. Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and create a welcoming first impression.
- Manage reservations and waitlists using OpenTable.
- Escort guests to their tables while maintaining efficient seating flow.
- Answer phone calls professionally and assist with reservations and guest inquiries.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the host stand and entrance.
- Coordinate with servers and management to optimize table turnover and guest experience.
- Monitor guest flow during peak service periods.
- Assist with restaurant operations as needed, including supporting servers and food runners during busy periods.
- Deliver exceptional customer service while maintaining Banff Social's hospitality standards.
Qualifications & Experience
- Previous experience in hospitality, guest services, serving, or hosting is an asset but not required—full training will be provided.
- Experience in restaurants or hotels is preferred.
- Experience using OpenTable is considered a strong asset.
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Toast, Micros, or similar systems is an advantage.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Professional phone etiquette.
- Ability to multitask and remain calm in a fast-paced environment.
- Positive attitude, reliability, and strong teamwork skills.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
