Overview
We are looking for a skilled and dependable Dump Truck Driver to join our team at Blacktop Asphalt Paving. In this role, you will be responsible for hauling gravel and asphalt to and from job sites, ensuring timely and safe deliveries. Duties & Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a dump truck to transport asphalt, gravel, and other materials to designated locations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the truck is in safe working condition.
- Follow designated routes while adhering to traffic laws and company policies.
- Ensure proper loading, unloading, and securement of materials to prevent spillage.
- Maintain accurate logs of mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery details.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and site supervisors regarding schedules and potential delays.
- Follow all local, provincial, and federal regulations for commercial trucking.
- Perform basic maintenance checks and report any mechanical issues immediately.
Qualifications:
- Valid Class 3 and/or Class 1 License (Required)
- Must be able to drive manual transmission
- WHMIS Certification (Preferred)
- Experience operating dump trucks for asphalt and gravel hauling
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in the construction and paving industry
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening
