We are seeking an enthusiastic, customer-focused team member to join our club in a dual role combining Member Services & Club Operations with Personal Training/Fitness Instruction. This position offers a consistent hourly schedule performing front desk and administrative duties while providing the opportunity to build a personal training clientele and earn additional income through training sessions.
The ideal candidate is passionate about fitness, enjoys building relationships with members, and is confident in both customer service and fitness coaching.
Member Services & Club Operations
As part of your scheduled office shifts, you will:
- Welcome members and visitors, creating a friendly and professional atmosphere.
- Manage memberships, including sign-ups, renewals, upgrades, freezes, and cancellations.
- Respond to phone calls, emails, and membership inquiries promptly.
- Process memberships and payments using our membership management and POS systems.
- Assist with sales of memberships, personal training, and club promotions.
- Maintain accurate member records using Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and club software.
- Perform opening and closing procedures.
- Ensure the club remains clean, organized, and presentable throughout each shift.
- Complete daily administrative tasks and operational checklists.
- Communicate effectively with members and management regarding club operations.
- Provide outstanding customer service and resolve member concerns professionally.
Personal Training & Fitness Coaching
Outside of your scheduled office hours, you will have the opportunity to:
- Conduct fitness consultations and assessments.
- Design personalized fitness and training programs based on members' goals.
- Deliver safe, motivating, and effective one-on-one and small group personal training sessions.
- Lead engaging and energetic group fitness classes for members of all fitness levels.
- Demonstrate proper exercise techniques and modify exercises to accommodate different abilities.
- Build strong relationships with members to encourage long-term success and retention.
- Promote personal training services and group fitness classes to grow your client base.
- Educate members on exercise techniques, injury prevention, and healthy lifestyle habits.
- Motivate and support members in achieving their fitness goals through positive coaching and encouragement.
- Prepare, organize, and sanitize all equipment before and after training sessions and classes.
- Maintain current fitness certifications and follow all club safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Personal Training or Group Fitness certification (CanFitPro, NASM, ACE, ISSA, CSEP, or equivalent) preferred.
- Fitness Instructor Liability insurance required. (or willingness to obtain before starting).
- Previous customer service, sales, hospitality, or fitness experience is an asset.
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, email, and computer systems.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Friendly, professional, and confident interacting with members.
- Motivated to build a personal training clientele.
- Available to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
