Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT)(R) to join our healthcare team.
SATURDAYS: 8:30am-4:30pm
The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures with precision and care, ensuring patient safety and comfort. This role requires a thorough understanding of medical imaging techniques and adherence to safety protocols. The MRT(R) plays a vital role in assisting physicians with accurate diagnoses through high-quality imaging services, contributing to effective patient care and treatment planning.
Duties
- Operate X-ray equipment to produce clear images for diagnosis.
- Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process, positioning them correctly, and ensuring their comfort.
- Follow established safety protocols to protect patients, staff, and yourself from unnecessary radiation exposure.
- Review and evaluate images for quality and clarity; retake images if necessary to ensure diagnostic accuracy.
- Maintain accurate patient records and document procedures performed in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and proper functioning of imaging equipment through routine checks and minor troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to interpret images and provide relevant information for diagnosis.
- Stay updated on advancements in medical imaging technology and techniques through ongoing professional development.
Skills
- Proficiency in operating X-Ray equipment to produce accurate diagnostic images as ordered my physicians
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology to accurately document procedures and communicate effectively with healthcare professionals.
- Excellent patient care skills, including compassion, communication, and the ability to explain procedures clearly.
- Attention to detail to ensure high-quality images are obtained for accurate diagnosis.
- Ability to follow strict safety guidelines related to radiation exposure and patient handling.
- Good organizational skills for managing patient schedules and maintaining detailed records.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Qualifications
Graduated from and approved MRT program.
Certification and License required as an MRT.
- College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologist of Ontario(CMRITO)
- Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists ( CAMRT)
