Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Continuing Care Assistant to provide high-quality support and assistance to residents in an assisted living or nursing home environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to senior care, with experience working with individuals with disabilities and those suffering from dementia. This role involves assisting residents with daily activities, medication administration, meal preparation, and maintaining a clean and safe environment. Duties
- Provide personal care assistance, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Administer medications accurately according to prescribed instructions
- Support residents with daily activities such as meal preparation and feeding
- Assist with mobility and transfers to ensure safety and comfort
- Monitor residents’ health status and report any concerns to healthcare professionals
- Engage residents in social activities and companionship to promote mental well-being
- Maintain cleanliness of resident rooms and common areas through light cleaning duties
- Follow care plans and document care provided in accordance with facility policies
- Support residents with disabilities by providing tailored assistance as needed
Skills
- Prior experience in assisted living or nursing home settings is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of senior care, dementia care, and medication administration
- Compassionate caregiving skills with patience and empathy for residents’ needs
- Ability to work effectively with individuals with disabilities or special needs
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with residents, families, and healthcare team members
- Ability to perform light cleaning and meal preparation tasks efficiently
- Reliable, responsible, and attentive to detail in all aspects of care delivery
- Flexibility to adapt to changing resident needs and care routines
