Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Masonry Labourer to join our construction team. This position involves assisting with various masonry and construction tasks on-site, supporting skilled tradespeople, and ensuring the smooth progress of renovation, restoration, and new construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn and grow within the industry.
Duties
- Assist with the preparation and mixing of mortar, concrete, and other materials required for masonry work
- Use hand tools such as trowels, hammers, chisels, and levels to support bricklaying, stonework, and other masonry tasks
- Operate power tools including drills, saws, and grinders safely and efficiently
- Read blueprints and schematics to understand project specifications and ensure accurate execution
- Support the installation of bricks, blocks, stones, or other materials as directed by supervisors or masons
- Aid in demolition, cleanup, and site preparation for renovation or restoration projects
- Assist with heavy equipment operation when necessary under supervision
- Follow safety protocols related to caulking, scaffolding, and working around heavy machinery
- Support team members in maintaining a clean and organized work environment
Skills
- Experience with hand tools and power tools used in masonry and construction projects
- Knowledge of masonry techniques and materials
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately
- Construction experience preferred; familiarity with renovation or restoration projects is a plus
- Skills in caulking, demolition, or working with schematics are advantageous
- Ability to operate heavy equipment safely when required
- Strong physical stamina with the ability to lift heavy loads and stand for extended periods
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Willingness to learn new skills related to masonry work and construction processes
