Fort Erie Community Preschool is looking for a dedicated and accomplished Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) to join our preschool family and fill the role of Program Coordinator - Curriculum & Program Quality. We’re looking for someone with a great love and patience for children, and a passion for teaching them the important elements of school life. You must be knowledgeable about best practices and preschool education methods, and be a strong leader who prioritizes the delivery of high-quality programming for children between the ages of 3 and 6.

Responsibilities
- Curriculum oversight across seven classrooms — Lead program planning to ensure high-quality, developmentally appropriate, play-based and inquiry-based programming, reviewing weekly plans and providing constructive feedback to educators.
- Deep pedagogical knowledge — Apply a comprehensive understanding of the Ontario Kindergarten Program (and its four learning frames), How Does Learning Happen?, the ELECT document, and the CCEYA to everyday practice.
- Literacy and numeracy leadership — Guide educators in implementing approved resources including UFLI Foundations and Jolly Phonics, along with other curriculum initiatives.
- Pedagogical documentation — Oversee observations, learning stories, Home Connections, and Show & Share to ensure documentation is meaningful and reflective, and that it drives individualized and classroom learning goals.
- Learning environments — Champion the "Environment as the Third Teacher" philosophy, supporting educators in designing inviting, intentional spaces with natural materials, open-ended resources, and loose parts that evolve with children's interests.
- Weekly classroom coaching — Visit each classroom at least once per week to observe programming, environments, and educator interactions, providing ongoing mentorship, modelling best practices, and developing improvement plans as needed.
- Educator growth and onboarding — Support new educators through orientation, help staff select professional development aligned to their goals, and foster a culture of collaboration and reflective practice.
- Inclusion and specialist collaboration — Work with the Inclusion Quality Coordinator and Community Pedagogical Advisors to implement inclusive strategies and ensure consistent follow-through across all classrooms.
- Quality assurance and compliance — Conduct regular program quality reviews, ensure Ministry of Education licensing compliance, and maintain consistency and continuous improvement across all seven rooms.
- Leadership, communication, and administration — Attend staff and leadership meetings, plan and present PD workshops, support family and community engagement, maintain coaching records and program quality reports, and model professionalism while reporting to the Executive Director.
A minimum of 5 years of ECE experience is required. Leadership experience in a child care or preschool setting would definitely be considered an asset.

- A current First Aid/CPR certificate
- Membership with the College of Early Childhood Educators (in good standing)
- A professional development portfolio/certificates
- Inquiry-based activity planning samples
- Classroom management, difficult conversations and conflict resolution experiences
- Examples of programming using “How Does Learning Happen,” The ELECT document and the Full Day Early Learning Kindergarten curriculum
- Previous leadership experience
- Community volunteer experiences
