Conducting interviews June 9-11, between 4-8 PM.
We are looking for a dynamic Sales Associate to join our small, home-based business that sells dog and cat treats, along with a few other products, at markets in the greater Edmonton area.
Saturday daytime availability required. Other shifts available are Sunday daytime, Thurs evening, Fri evening, with the possibility of more.
Summer market season will come to a close around fall season, with potential for additional shifts during the Christmas season, if desired.
Please note that we are hiring for this position in a contract position (independent contractor), and not an employee role.
Duties:
- Pick up and drop off supplies from storage at a residence and transport them to the market location
- Dress appropriately for outdoor weather (most markets are outside)
- Set up and tear down the sales booth
- Engage with customers to promote and sell products
- Use your product knowledge to help customers make informed choices
- Offer samples to customers
- Take photos of the booth and visiting animals for social media
- Provide excellent customer service before, during, and after the sale
- Operate a mobile point-of-sale system to handle transactions accurately
- Maintain a clean and organized sales area
- Upsell and cross-sell to increase sales revenue
Requirements:
- Must have a valid driver’s license and your own vehicle capable of transporting market supplies. Supplies can weigh up to 250 lbs, with no singular item weighing more than 50 lbs.
- Comfortable around cats and dogs
- Own a smartphone with data to process debit/credit transactions (Square POS App)
- Ability to read a paper map if needed
- Proficient in basic math for transactions
- Excellent communication skills and ability to engage warmly with customers
- Able to read, write, and communicate clearly in English
- Basic technology skills to use Bluetooth, Google Email, Google Calendar, Google Drive, and social media
Pay starts at $15/hr + 10% commision paid out biweekly.
