Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Shipping and Receiving Clerk to join our warehouse team on a full-time or part-time basis. This role is vital to ensuring the smooth flow of goods through our warehouse, supporting order fulfillment, inventory accuracy, and timely distribution. The ideal candidate will have warehouse experience and familiarity with shipping, receiving, and warehouse management systems, contributing to efficient warehouse operations in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Receive incoming shipments, verify contents against purchase orders, and inspect for damages
- Prepare outgoing shipments by picking, packing, and labeling products accurately
- Operate forklifts and reach trucks safely to load and unload freight
- Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) and MRP software such as AS400 to track inventory and process orders
- Manage order fulfillment processes, including order picking and packing for e-commerce and wholesale clients
- Maintain accurate records of shipments and receipts, ensuring proper documentation
- Load and unload trucks efficiently using appropriate equipment
- Assist with inventory counts and cycle counting to maintain stock accuracy
- Ensure safety procedures are followed during all warehouse activities
- Support warehouse distribution tasks as needed, including organizing storage areas
Qualifications
- Previous warehouse experience preferred, especially in shipping & receiving operations
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), MRP systems, AS400 is a plus
- Experience operating forklifts and reach trucks required; certification preferred but not mandatory
- Ability to perform basic math calculations for inventory counts and order processing
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in order picking, packing, and documentation
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and stand for extended periods during shifts
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Basic understanding of warehouse distribution processes and e-commerce fulfillment is advantageous
- Reliable with a strong work ethic; ability to work independently or as part of a team
Pay: $41.00-$43.00 per hour
