Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Carpenter Apprentice to join our construction team. This entry-level position offers hands-on experience in various aspects of carpentry and construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in building trades, a willingness to learn, and the ability to work safely and efficiently on diverse job sites. This role provides valuable training opportunities in blueprint reading, woodworking, and construction techniques, laying the foundation for a successful career in carpentry and related trades.
Responsibilities
- Assist with measuring, cutting, and assembling wood and other materials using hand tools and power tools
- Support senior carpenters in framing, cabinetry, roofing, siding, and finishing work
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to ensure accurate project execution
- Help with concrete forming, rebar installation, and masonry tasks as needed
- Participate in restoration projects including historical building repairs and renovations
- Perform demolition work safely when required for project prep
- Assist with installation of flooring, tile laying, cabinet installation, and construction painting
- Support with plumbing, electrical work, caulking, and siding installation under supervision
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to promote safety and efficiency
- Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times
Experience
- Prior experience or familiarity with construction or maintenance person work is a plus but not required; on-the-job training will be provided
- Knowledge of hand tools, power tools, schematics, and blueprints is advantageous
- Experience with woodworking, cabinetry, flooring installation, tile laying, or masonry is beneficial
- Basic understanding of construction estimating or manufacturing processes is a plus
- Candidates with electrical or plumbing experience are encouraged to apply
- Strong physical ability for heavy lifting and working at heights or on scaffolding is preferred
- Demonstrated commitment to safety practices and teamwork in previous roles or training programs
