Overview
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Warehouse Operative to join our dynamic logistics team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in warehouse distribution, heavy equipment operation, and order fulfillment processes. This role offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, utilizing various warehouse management systems and equipment to ensure efficient handling of goods. Candidates with warehouse experience, mechanical knowledge, and familiarity with shipping & receiving procedures are highly valued. Duties
- Operate heavy equipment such as forklifts, and other machinery safely and efficiently.
- Perform order picking, packing, and order fulfillment tasks accurately to meet customer requirements.
- Load and unload shipments using appropriate equipment, ensuring proper handling of goods.
- Manage shipping & receiving processes, including verifying incoming and outgoing items against documentation.
- Conduct routine maintenance checks on equipment and report any mechanical issues promptly.
- Assist in inventory management by conducting stock counts and organizing storage areas.
- Support construction or manufacturing-related tasks as needed, including heavy lifting and assembly work.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment at all times.
Experience
- Previous experience working in a warehouse or distribution center is preferred.
- Familiarity with warehouse equipment such as reach trucks, forklifts, cranes, and order pickers is highly desirable.
- Mechanical knowledge or experience operating heavy machinery will be considered an asset.
- Knowledge of shipping & receiving procedures, packaging standards, and inventory control processes is beneficial.
- Construction or manufacturing experience can be helpful for understanding complex operations involving heavy lifting or assembly tasks.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently while maintaining attention to detail during order picking and packing activities.
