We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pediatric Occupational Therapist to join our team. This role involves providing informal play-based and formal (as needed) assessments, ongoing intervention, and caregiver coaching to children ages 2–18 across home, school, daycare, and community settings.
The ideal candidate is passionate about child development, sensory integration, emotional regulation, motor skill development, and supporting families through strengths-based interventions. - Develop individualized, family-centred treatment plans aligned with each child’s goals, daily routines, and developmental needs.
- Provide engaging, play-based intervention to support skill development and functional independence.
- Offer caregiver coaching and education to support skill carryover across home, school, and community environments.
- Collaborate with parents, teachers, daycare providers, and other clinicians (i.e., SLPs, PTs, psychologists).
- Document progress using clear, professional SOAP notes aligned with COTO standards.
- Communicate regularly with families to ensure collaborative goal-setting and consistent follow-through.
- Maintain organized caseload management and timely documentation.
- Participate in team meetings, case consultations, and optional professional development opportunities.
- Uphold ethical, culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and neurodiversity-affirming practice.
Requirements
- Registered and in good standing with COTO as an Occupational Therapist (or eligible upon start date).
- Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy
- Valid Ontario driver’s license, proof of insurance and reliable vehicle
- Experience in pediatrics, early intervention, home-based OT, school-based OT, or developmental disabilities is strongly preferred.
- Strong clinical skills in sensory processing, fine/gross motor development, handwriting, emotional regulation, executive functioning, and/or feeding.
- Excellent communication and rapport-building skills with children and caregivers.
- Ability to work independently and travel to client homes/schools.
- Comfortable using electronic documentation platforms (e.g., Jane).
