Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Gas Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and experience in the gas fitting/HVAC field. This role involves maintaining, repairing, and installing gas systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. A solid understanding of schematics, HVAC systems, boilers, and construction practices is essential for success in this position. The Gas Technician will play a critical role in ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards.
Duties
- Install, inspect, repair, and maintain gas systems and appliances in various environments
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals to accurately perform installations and repairs
- Conduct routine maintenance on boilers, HVAC units, and other mechanical systems involving gas components
- Perform welding and plumbing tasks as needed for system repairs or upgrades
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues using diagnostic tools and mechanical knowledge
- Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and industry standards
- Document service activities thoroughly and accurately for record-keeping purposes
- Collaborate with construction teams during new installations or upgrades of gas-related infrastructure
- Respond promptly to emergency calls for gas leaks or system failures to ensure safety
Experience
- Gas Technician 3 ticket minimum , G2 and refrigeration ticket would be an asset
- Strong background in HVAC, plumbing, welding, boiler operation, and appliance repair
- Mechanical knowledge related to HVAC systems and general maintenance procedures
- Experience reading schematics, blueprints, or technical diagrams for installation or repair projects
- Previous work in construction or industrial maintenance environments is preferred
- Mechanic experience or background in appliance repair is advantageous
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team with minimal supervision
