Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Powder Coater to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for applying powder coating to various metal components, ensuring high-quality finishes that meet company standards. This role requires mechanical aptitude, familiarity with manufacturing processes, and the ability to operate various tools and equipment safely and efficiently. The Powder Coater plays a vital role in delivering durable, aesthetically pleasing products to our customers, contributing to the overall success of our production line.
Duties
- Prepare metal parts and components for coating by cleaning, masking, and sanding as needed
- Operate powder coating equipment, including spray guns and curing ovens, following safety protocols
- Use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to assemble or repair parts as required
- Manage material handling using cranes and forklifts to move heavy or bulky items safely within the production area
- Perform quality checks on coated products to ensure adherence to specifications and finish standards
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
- Assist in setup and changeover of coating lines for different product runs
- Follow lean manufacturing principles to optimize workflow and reduce waste
Skills
- Mechanical knowledge with experience in machining, assembly, and use of hand tools and power tools
- Familiarity with crane operation, forklift driving, and material handling equipment
- Basic math skills for measurements and quality assessments
- Knowledge of welding techniques is a plus but not mandatory
- Understanding of lean manufacturing practices to improve efficiency
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on safety and quality standards
- Prior experience in manufacturing or powder coating is preferred but not required
