About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Senior Programmer / Software Developer to join an Agile development team supporting the enhancement and maintenance of a large-scale enterprise application. This role is ideal for a senior developer with strong Oracle database experience who enjoys solving complex business problems, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and delivering high-quality software solutions.
Responsibilities
- Analyze business and technical requirements and develop detailed technical specifications.
- Design, develop, and maintain Oracle PL/SQL code, stored procedures, and database objects.
- Develop software solutions that meet functional and technical requirements.
- Prepare technical designs, flowcharts, and programming documentation.
- Perform unit, integration, and system testing to ensure application quality.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software defects.
- Collaborate with business analysts, architects, and development team members throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
- Prepare progress reports and communicate project status, risks, and mitigation strategies.
- Contribute to solution architecture documentation and other technical deliverables.
- Provide knowledge transfer and technical guidance to team members when required.
- Support ongoing application enhancements and change requests.
Required Qualifications
- Extensive experience as a Programmer/Software Developer on enterprise software projects.
- Strong experience developing with Oracle Database and PL/SQL.
- Experience developing and maintaining stored procedures, packages, functions, and database scripts.
- Strong SQL and database design skills.
- Experience with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Experience gathering and analyzing technical requirements.
- Experience performing unit testing and integration testing.
- Experience preparing technical documentation.
- Experience working within Agile development teams.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting large enterprise or government applications.
- Experience with application modernization and enhancement initiatives.
- Experience mentoring junior developers or leading technical discussions.
- Experience working with large Oracle-based enterprise systems.
