Abatement Worker
Duties:
- Perform asbestos, lead, and mold abatement activities in accordance with safety regulations and company procedures
- Set up containment areas using plastic sheeting and duct tape to prevent the spread of hazardous materials
- Remove and dispose of hazardous materials, such as asbestos-containing materials, lead-based paint, and mold-infested materials
- Use specialized equipment and tools to safely remove and handle hazardous materials
- Follow proper decontamination procedures to ensure personal safety and prevent cross-contamination
- Clean and sanitize work areas after abatement activities are completed
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including material inventories and waste disposal documentation
Requirements:
- Valid driver's license considered an asset
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and perform physically demanding tasks
- Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations related to asbestos, lead, and mold abatement
- Certification or training in asbestos, lead, or mold abatement is preferred but not required
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
