Laureate College is seeking a passionate and dedicated Secondary Math/Science Teacher to deliver high-quality instruction in Mathematics and Science on a full-time basis. Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, on-campus lessons in Mathematics (grades 11-12) and Science (grade 11-12 Biology/Chemistry, Grade 9-10 General Science) that align with Laureate College's curriculum standards and the Ontario curriculum.
- Develop creative and effective lesson plans and instructional materials that accommodate diverse learning styles and student needs.
- Assess and monitor student progress through assignments, projects, laboratory activities, tests, and classroom participation.
- Foster an inclusive, safe, and stimulating learning environment that promotes inquiry, problem-solving, and scientific thinking.
- Incorporate technology and hands-on learning experiences to enhance student engagement and achievement.
- Participate in faculty meetings, collaborative planning, school events, and ongoing professional development initiatives.
- Maintain clear and timely communication with students, parents, and colleagues regarding student progress, achievement, and support strategies.
- Contribute positively to the broader school community through extracurricular activities, student mentorship, and school initiatives.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree or higher in Education, Mathematics, Science, or a related discipline.
- Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) certification or equivalent teaching qualifications (preferred).
- Qualifications and experience teaching secondary Mathematics and/or Science courses.
- Strong knowledge of the Ontario secondary curriculum and effective instructional practices.
- Excellent organizational, communication, classroom management, and interpersonal skills.
- A commitment to fostering student success, academic excellence, and a positive learning environment.
- Experience integrating educational technology into classroom instruction is considered an asset.
