Megamind Learning Centre - Guelph is seeking a highly motivated and experienced French tutor to join our team. The successful candidate will provide quality French instructions to students from Grade 1 to Grade 8.
Duties
- Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions tailored to the individual needs of students
- Assist students in understanding and mastering subject material, including homework help and test preparation
- Develop personalized lesson plans that align with students' learning objectives
- Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to help them improve
- Communicate effectively with students and parents regarding academic performance and areas for improvement
- Create a supportive and engaging learning atmosphere that encourages student participation
- Utilize various teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles
Requirement
- Fluency in spoken and written French.
- Certification in French language proficiency such as DELF B1 or DELF B2 (preferred).
- Experience teaching or tutoring French to children and/or adults.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to create engaging and interactive learning experiences.
- Familiarity with the Ontario French curriculum is an asset.
- Reliable, professional, and passionate about education.
- Available to work weekday mornings and evenings
- Previous experience tutoring or teaching French, preferably aligned with the Ontario curriculum, is highly desirable
- Familiarity with French Immersion, Core French, and Extended French programs is an asset
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain French grammar, vocabulary, reading, and writing concepts
- Experience working with children in an educational setting is preferred
- Classroom or small-group teaching experience is a plus, demonstrating effective classroom and behaviour management skills
- A genuine passion for education and helping students build confidence and achieve their academic goals
