Job Overview
We are seeking a Skilled Construction Labourer to bring their expertise and dedication to our growing team. With a focus on commercial and industrial projects across the GTA, this role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience and a passion for delivering high-quality work. You will play an integral part in ensuring project success, collaborating with a talented team, and advancing your career in a fast-paced environment.
This position primarily involves work on job sites in Etobicoke, Mississauga, Halton Hills, Rockwood, Guelph, Orangeville, Oakville, and East York.
Qualifications
- Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience in construction or trades.
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certifications are an asset
- Own reliable transportation with the ability to travel across the GTA (vehicle must be in good working condition)
- Experience in industrial construction is a major asset
- Proficiency with construction tools and equipment (e.g., drills, saws, grinders, and measuring tools)
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and blueprints
- Strong understanding of construction site safety protocols and standards
- Valid WHMIS certification and Working at Heights training (or willingness to obtain prior to starting)
- Possession of personal hand and/or power tools
- G class driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
- Physical stamina to work long hours in various weather conditions, including the ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly and occasionally up to 100 lbs with assistance
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with trade professionals (e.g., framers, electricians, masons) to execute project tasks
- Install and handle building materials such as insulation, drywall, concrete, and steel, among others
- Operate and maintain a wide range of tools and equipment
- Assist with construction layout and preparation based on blueprints and plans
- Load, unload, and organize materials and tools on-site
- Erect and dismantle scaffolding, barricades, and temporary structures
- Perform site cleanups and ensure proper disposal of materials
- Identify and resolve on-site challenges with minimal supervision
- Maintain inventory of materials and communicate supply needs to supervisors
- Participate in safety meetings and adhere to all company and legislated safety guidelines
- Other duties as assigned by site supervisors or project managers
Requirements
- Reliable transportation to job sites across the GTA
- Comfortable working in confined spaces and at heights (with relevant certifications)
- Flexibility to accommodate varying schedules, including potential overtime and weekend work
- Basic math skills for measurements and material calculations
- Strong work ethic and ability to work independently and as part of a team
