DoubleTree by Hilton Calgary North is looking for an energetic and results-driven Sales Manager to join our team. This role will focus on developing and growing group accommodations, meetings, conferences, social events, and corporate business while delivering exceptional service from the initial inquiry through the completion of each event.
What You'll Do
- Prospect and develop new corporate, association, government, sports, and social group business.
- Generate meetings and events business through sales calls, networking, site tours, and client visits.
- Manage the sales process from inquiry to contract execution.
- Prepare proposals, contracts, and negotiate rates while maximizing hotel revenue.
- Conduct hotel tours and showcase meeting and event spaces to prospective clients.
- Build strong relationships with new and existing clients to encourage repeat business.
- Work closely with Operations, Catering, Front Office, Housekeeping, and Food & Beverage teams to ensure seamless event execution.
- Attend networking events, trade shows, and industry functions to promote the hotel.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activity to identify new business opportunities.
- Achieve monthly and annual sales goals.
- Maintain accurate client information and sales activity within the hotel's CRM system.
- Participate in revenue strategy meetings and contribute to forecasting and business planning.
- Ensure an exceptional client experience before, during, and after each event.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 2 years of hotel sales experience, preferably in meetings, events, or group sales.
- Experience with Hilton systems is considered an asset.
- Strong understanding of hotel operations and banquet services.
- Proven ability to generate new business and exceed sales targets.
- Excellent negotiation and closing skills.
- Outstanding communication and presentation abilities.
- Highly organized with exceptional time management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities simultaneously.
- Self-motivated, energetic, and results-oriented.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with hotel sales systems.
- Knowledge of the Calgary corporate and meetings market.
- Existing industry contacts are considered an asset.
