Job Title: Line Cook

Job Summary:
We are seeking a dependable Line Cook to support both kitchen operations and food delivery services. This dual role involves preparing meals during service hours and safely delivering orders when required. The ideal candidate is organized, punctual, and able to work efficiently both in the kitchen and on the road. Some light vehicle maintenance (such as checking oil and refueling) is also required.
Key Responsibilities:
Kitchen Duties
- Prepare and cook meals according to standardized recipes and quality standards
- Always maintain a clean and sanitary workstation
- Assist with daily prep, portioning, and stock rotation (FIFO)
- Follow all Food Safe and kitchen safety procedures
- Clean kitchen equipment and assist with end-of-day cleaning duties
- Taking trash out at the end of each shift
- Cleaning and washing down working space and equipment
- Taking temperature checks
- Rotating stock first in first out
Delivery Driving
- Safely transports food orders or supplies to designated locations in a timely manner
- Follow proper procedures for handling and packaging food for delivery
- Ensure the delivery vehicle is clean and organized
- Provide excellent customer service during deliveries (polite, professional, timely)
Vehicle Maintenance
- Check and refill gas tank as needed
- Check oil levels regularly and report any vehicle issues
- Keep delivery vehicle clean (inside and out)
- Report any damage, mechanical issues, or safety concerns immediately
Qualifications:
- Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License with clean driving record
- 1–2 years experience in a kitchen environment (line cook or prep cook)
- Previous delivery experience is an asset
- Food Safe Level 1 Certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Knowledge of local roads and safe driving practices
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs and handle hot food safely
- Strong communication and multitasking skills
- Must be punctual, reliable, and self-motivated
