Camp Coordinator
Pay: CA$32.00-CA$35.00 per hour
Job description:
Location: Remote, on-the-land and community-based (seasonal and year-round activities)
Purpose of the Role
The Camp Coordinator supports the planning, coordination, and delivery of culturally
grounded family, Elders, children and youth, and wellness camps on Tsay Keh Dene territory.
The role centers Sekani ways of being, learning, and healing, supporting intergenerational
knowledge transfer, cultural safety, and holistic wellness through land-based programming.
Key Responsibilities
1. Camp Planning & Coordination
Coordinate seasonal and year-round cultural, wellness, family, Elders, and youth
camps held on-the-land and in community
Work closely with Elders, Knowledge Keepers, families, and community members to
shape camp goals, activities, and protocols
Develop camp schedules that balance cultural activities, rest, learning, safety, and
wellness
Support logistics including camp setup, transportation, supplies, food planning, and
accommodation
2. Cultural and Community Engagement
Ensure camps are guided by Sekani cultural values, protocols, and teachings
Support Elders and cultural facilitators with honorariums, travel, and activity needs
Foster safe, inclusive, and respectful spaces for children, youth, families, and Elders
Encourage intergenerational learning and family participation
3. Wellness and Safety
Support holistic wellness approaches (mental, emotional, physical, spiritual) through
land-based activities
Coordinate safety planning, risk management, and emergency preparedness
appropriate to remote settings
Ensure cultural, physical, and emotional safety for all participants
Follow community, health authority, and funding-related safety requirements
