Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a wide range of heavy machinery and industrial equipment. This role requires mechanical expertise, familiarity with various types of heavy equipment, and the ability to work efficiently in a dynamic environment. The Heavy Equipment Technician will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and reliable operation of machinery such as highway tractors, trailers, mobile pumps, service rigs and rental machinery.
Duties
- Perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on heavy equipment
- Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues
- Conduct basic welding, assembly, and disassembly of components using hand tools and power tools
- Operate and repair industrial equipment with a focus on safety and efficiency
- Maintain detailed service records and documentation of repairs performed
- Assist with the installation of new equipment and upgrades to existing machinery
- Perform heavy lifting tasks safely using appropriate techniques and equipment
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding repairs and maintenance needs
Requirements
- Proven experience in dealership or industrial equipment repair, especially with Cummins, Detroit Diesel, Allison or similar brands
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience working on highway trucks, or other heavy machinery
- Skilled in welding, electrical systems, schematics reading, and automotive repair techniques
- Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently
- Experience with power tools, hand tools, assembly processes, and maintenance procedures
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work in physically demanding environments
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Prior mechanic experience preferred; certification or training in heavy equipment or industrial maintenance is a plus
- Customer service skills for interacting with clients regarding repairs or service needs
Pay: $35.00-$48.00 per hour
