We are currently seeking a Casual Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to support a client requiring insulin administration in the community. This role is ideal for a compassionate and reliable nurse who enjoys providing one-on-one client care and promoting health, safety, and independence in a home setting.
Please note: This casual position is intended to support a current client need for insulin injections. The preferred availability for this role is Thursday through Sunday between 5:00 PM and 6:00 PM.
The successful candidate will provide safe, professional nursing care while building respectful, therapeutic relationships with clients and their families. They will exercise sound clinical judgment, maintain accurate documentation, and uphold Bayshore's commitment to exceptional care and service.
Key Responsibilities

Administer insulin injections in accordance with physician orders, care plans, and professional nursing standards.

Assess and monitor clients for changes in health status and respond appropriately to client needs.

Observe, document, and report any concerns, changes in condition, or adverse reactions.

Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.

Communicate effectively with clients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.

Promote client safety, dignity, independence, and quality of life.

Adhere to all Bayshore policies, procedures, infection prevention and control practices, and professional standards of practice.

Maintain client confidentiality and professional boundaries at all times.
Education
-
Graduate of an approved Practical Nursing program.

Current registration and good standing with the applicable provincial regulatory body.

Current CPR certification.

Valid First Aid certification is considered an asset.
Experience & Qualifications

Previous community nursing, home care, or clinical nursing experience is considered an asset.

Experience administering insulin injections and managing diabetic care is preferred.

Strong assessment, communication, and clinical decision-making skills.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Additional Requirements

Availability to work Thursday through Sunday between 5:00 PM and 6:00 PM.

Reliable transportation to travel to client homes as required.

Current driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle are considered strong assets.
