Position: Registered Practical Nurse – Unifor Service

Position Summary:
The Medical Imaging Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) works within a multi-disciplinary team within the pre and post procedure area. They will provide direct care for patients of various ages who will or have undergone interventional procedures. The RPN will function within the Job Description of a Registered Practical Nurse and the College of Nurses Standards of Nursing Practice for Registered Practical Nurses.
Duties include but are not limited to, assessment, preparation, monitoring and recovery of patients for a variety of complex radiological procedures.
Position Requirements:
- Current Registration Certificate of Competence with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Collaboration and communication skills with patients and health professionals
- Demonstrated assessment skills
- Experience working with adult and pediatric patients, oncology and renal patients
- Ability to function effectively in clinical areas with rapid pace and high turnover
- CPR required
- Ability to adapt to various clinical settings and provide appropriate nursing care to patients whose acuity and degree of illness vary
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Registered Practical Nurse
- Successful Completion of Enhanced Skills Upgrade (e.g. Medication Administration, Assessment skills, etc.)
- Flexibility, reliability and dependability
- Good attendance record
Good organizational skills
