LA National Auto Ltd is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented, and experienced Certified Journeyperson Auto Body Technician (or recognized equivalent) to join our team. We are looking for a technician with proven collision repair experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. This role focuses on repairing and restoring collision-damaged vehicles to manufacturer and industry standards while ensuring the highest level of quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.
We are a local business looking for a Certified Journeyperson Auto Body Technician (or recognized equivalent) to perform high-quality collision repairs on a wide range of vehicles. You will be responsible for repairing damaged vehicle bodies and structural components, restoring vehicles to manufacturer and industry standards, and ensuring every repair meets the highest standards of safety, quality, and appearance.
An excellent Auto Body Technician has strong hand-eye coordination, manual dexterity, and a keen attention to detail. They are skilled in repairing and refinishing vehicle bodies, interpreting repair procedures, and using specialized tools and equipment to restore vehicles to manufacturer and industry standards. They have strong problem-solving abilities, take pride in producing high-quality workmanship, and communicate professionally with customers and team members when explaining repairs or providing updates.
Main responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Inspect vehicles to assess collision damage and determine repair requirements.
- Repair or replace damaged body panels, structural components, and related parts.
- Perform frame and unibody repairs using appropriate measuring and straightening equipment.
- Remove, repair, and reinstall vehicle components, including trim, glass, and moldings.
- Prepare surfaces for refinishing through sanding, filling, masking, and priming.
- Perform welding, cutting, and metal finishing as required.
- Follow manufacturer repair procedures and industry standards.
- Ensure all repairs meet quality, safety, and workmanship standards.
- Safely operate equipment and use approved products and chemicals as required to complete vehicle preparation and finishing tasks.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with workplace health and safety standards.
- Operate and maintain shop tools and equipment in good working condition.
- Maintain accurate repair records and document completed work.
- Communicate effectively with management, estimators, and team members regarding repair progress.
- Adhere to all workplace health and safety policies and procedures.
- Assist with other shop duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Certified Journeyperson Auto Body Technician designation (or recognized equivalent).
- Previous professional auto body and collision repair experience required.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Skilled in safely using hand tools, power equipment, shop equipment, and approved chemicals.
- Knowledge of manufacturer repair procedures and workplace safety practices.
- Reliable, punctual, and professional attitude.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Successful candidates must pass a background check and provide a driver’s abstract as a condition of employment
