Job Overview
Nova Staffing is seeking a Forklift Operator for our client in the Centreville area to join a fast-paced produce warehouse environment. This role is responsible for supporting shipping and receiving operations, material handling, and ensuring accurate movement and storage of product within the facility.
The ideal candidate will have forklift experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently while maintaining quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts and pallet jacks to safely move, load, and unload materials
- Load and unload shipments, ensuring accuracy and product integrity
- Receive and inspect incoming shipments against purchase orders
- Pick, pack, and stage orders for outbound shipping
- Maintain organized inventory and storage areas
- Perform cycle counts and assist with inventory control
- Ensure proper FIFO (First In, First Out) stock rotation
- Complete basic shipping/receiving documentation (packing slips, reports)
- Support team in meeting daily shipping and production goals
- Follow all health, safety, and PPE requirements
- Maintain a clean and safe warehouse environment
- Report discrepancies, damaged goods, or safety concerns
Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum 1 year of forklift experience
- Experience in warehouse, shipping/receiving, or logistics preferred
- Forklift certification considered an asset
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfortable working in a cooler environment (approx. 1°C)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Basic computer skills an asset
- Strong work ethic and reliability
Pay: $19.00 per hour
