Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Rebar Installer subcontractor for our concrete pool and shotcrete company. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in concrete reinforcement, carpentry, and general construction. This role involves installing rebar according to blueprints and schematics, working with various hand and power tools, and collaborating with other trades to ensure structural integrity and project success. The Rebar Installer will play a vital role in residential, commercial, and industrial construction projects, contributing to the safety and durability of our structures.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to accurately install rebar for various projects.
- Measure, cut, bend, and assemble rebar using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment as needed.
- Operate heavy equipment safely to assist with rebar placement and material handling.
- Coordinate with carpenters, masons, concrete finishers, and other trades to ensure proper installation sequences.
- Perform masonry work, concrete forming, restoration, flooring installation, and caulking as required for project completion.
- Conduct heavy lifting of rebar and related materials while maintaining safety protocols.
- Use schematics and blueprint reading skills to ensure precise placement of reinforcement according to specifications.
- Assist in the installation of formwork and prepare work sites for concrete pouring when necessary.
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and materials efficiently on-site.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in rebar installation or related construction fields such as masonry, concrete forming, or restoration.
- Mechanical knowledge of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and heavy machinery operation.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings accurately.
- Strong understanding of construction safety standards and protocols.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and work in physically demanding environments for extended periods.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools such as cutters, benders, hammers; familiarity with welding is a plus.
- Knowledge of flooring installation, caulking techniques, renovation processes, and concrete finishing is desirable.
- Construction experience with an emphasis on structural reinforcement is preferred.
- Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively across trades.
- Valid G2 license and access to transportation are a must. Most sites are located within the GTHA but can be throughout Ontario.
Pay: From $30.00 per hour
