We work with established construction companies to provide qualified workers for both short-term and long-term opportunities. We currently have several ongoing construction projects looking for experienced Construction Safety Officers (CSOs) to join their teams.
About the Role
We are currently seeking Junior and Senior Construction Safety Officers for projects throughout the Lower Mainland.
We are particularly interested in candidates with experience working on large-scale construction sites and a strong understanding of construction operations. Candidates who are familiar with multiple stages of construction and various construction trades will be highly preferred.
A trades background is considered a strong asset.
Responsibilities
- Conduct regular site safety inspections and identify potential hazards
- Monitor and promote compliance with WorkSafeBC regulations, company policies, and site safety procedures
- Assist with the implementation and maintenance of site-specific safety plans
- Conduct toolbox meetings, orientations, and safety training as required
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions and assist with corrective actions
- Work closely with site supervisors, project managers, and workers to maintain a strong safety culture
- Monitor safe work practices across multiple construction trades
- Maintain safety documentation, inspection reports, incident reports, and other required records
- Support the project team with day-to-day safety requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Previous experience as a Construction Safety Officer (CSO) or in a similar construction safety role
- Experience working on large construction sites is strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of construction processes, site operations, and various construction trades
- Experience working through different stages of construction is highly preferred
- Trades background is an asset
- Strong knowledge of WorkSafeBC regulations and occupational health and safety requirements
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and effectively with site crews and management
- CSO/Safety certifications and relevant training are preferred
- Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation are an asset
