Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate female support worker to provide 35-40 hours of support per week,Monday through Friday,during daytime hours (Between 8:00am and 4:30 pm) for a 29 -year -old woman with Prader -Willi Syndrome .Support will be in the clients home in Calgary N.W. and funding is provided through PDD.
Ideally, we would like the selected candidate to begin shadowing during flexible hours in August with a start date of full time work beginning September 2026. Completion of 10 hours of required training,readings,and meetings focused on understanding the complexities of Prader Willi Syndrome will be required before beginning respite shifts.In this role, you will provide essential assistance the individual in need, ensuring they receive the support necessary for their daily activities and overall well-being.Care will take place in the home,not in the community.The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills a commitment to delivering exceptional care.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct support to the client, assisting with their daily living activities and personal care as needed.
- Maintain accurate records through effective data entry and documentation of client interactions.
- Communicate effectively with the client, family, and team members to ensure a high standard of care.
- Utilize analysis skills to assess client needs and develop appropriate support plans.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact compassionately ,consistently and effectively with the client.
