Solex Industrial is a custom metal fabrication shop located in Milton, ON. Due to increasing demand, we are looking for a Full-Time Fitter/Welder.
Some of our most common fabrications include, storage & material handling racks, industrial handling equipment, stairs, miscellaneous custom pieces, pans, transitions, rolls, punch/ ironworker, and formed angles, channels, and boxes.
Needs to have experience Fitting, and welding mild steel, stainless steel and aluminum.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience with Fitting and Welding required
- Ability to communicate, read & write in English
- Completed trade schooling or demonstrated equivalent general industrial aptitude
- Ability to work productively independently and in a team environment
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and job drawings
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to move frequently, stand up and walk for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to frequently lift 45 lbs
- Fork lift experience

DUTIES:
- Lay out, positions, and secures parts and assemblies according to specifications, using straightedge, combination, square, calipers, clamps and ruler
- Fit & weld components and assemblies, using MIG or TIG on steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
- Cut work pieces using powered saws
- Cuts material using oxygen acetylene cutting torch
- Removes rough spots from work pieces, using portable grinder, hand file, or scraper
- Welds components in flat, vertical, and horizontal positions
- Heat, form, and dress metal parts, using hand tools, torch, or arc welding equipment
- Analyzes engineering drawings and specifications to plan layout, assembly, and welding operations
- Review final product in order to maintain specified standards and quality
- Responsible for operation, operating controls, setting all machine functions, deburring, and inspection of parts to assure conformance.
