Scope:
Under the direct supervision of the North Lodge Program Manager, and the overall supervision of the Executive Director, the Wellness Worker is expected to contribute to the overall function of the North Lodge programming.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning, design and facilitation of various programs.
- Incorporate Indigenous culture in healing activities.
- Work with a team in designing a treatment program for children, youth, adults and families.
- Contact clients to assist in after care planning and needs.
- Work with intake to ensure programs fulfilled.
- Work with clients in program to assist with the healing of trauma and overall wellness.
- Attend debriefings to review program design, delivery and facilitation.
- Work in a team environment and independently.
- Completing/filing Serious Occurrence’s when deemed necessary.
- When required, prepare stats for funders.
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary graduate of Social Service/BSW or related social work field.
- Be aware of current social issues as they affect Indigenous people in regard to trauma and addictions.
- Have a working knowledge of Traditional ceremonies and practices as they pertain to group work and healing approached.
- Be a role model in the community.
- Have or willing to obtain CPR/First Aid, NVCI or other required trainings.
- Must be willing to obtain a clear Vulnerable Sector.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Pay: $48,000.00-$52,000.00 per year

Ability to commute/relocate:
- Alban, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Education:
- AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (preferred)
Experience:
- Human Services/Social Work: 2 years (required)
- Working with the Indigenous Population: 1 year (preferred)
