We are seeking an energetic, self-motivated teacher to join our team in a full-time probationary position at Handhills Colony School, commencing August 26, 2026.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of the Alberta curriculum to students in Kindergarten through Grade 8. This role requires the ability to engage learners across a wide age range and to create a supportive, engaging, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment that fosters curiosity, growth, and a love of learning. Instruction will occur within a multi-grade, multi-subject setting, requiring flexibility and strong classroom management skills.
The ideal applicant will demonstrate strong instructional practice, a sound knowledge of effective teaching strategies, effective integration of educational technology, and excellent communication skills. Training and experience in English as a Second Language (ESL) is required, along with the ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse learner needs. The successful candidate must be adaptable, collaborative, and comfortable working in a small school environment. Previous experience in Hutterite Colony schools would be considered an asset.
