The NDE Technician performs NDT on welds and components based on requests initiated by Production, QC or Engineering and approved by the NDE Supervisor. This position ensures that specifications, class rules, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and work instructions are followed and met at each stage of construction.
The successful candidate will carry out daily in-process or final NDE inspections to identify non-conformities with contract requirements, help develop corrective actions, and communicate requirements to shop personnel. This role may also be required to support the afternoon or graveyard shift team and/or assist with NDT coordination as needed. The NDE Technician works closely with the NDE Coordinator and reports directly to the NDE Supervisor.
Note: Due to business needs, this position is required to be fully on-site based at 50 Pemberton Avenue, North Vancouver.
This is a 24 months limited term employment with eligible benefits and 15 days of vacation.
Review NDT requests and results to ensure specifications, class rules, work instructions, and SOP requirements have been met for each inspection.
Perform gap analyses of work instructions and SOPs for trade-specific systems, communicate findings to the respective area, and assist with revising or developing work instructions and SOPs as required.
Detailed understanding of the fabrication, installation, commissioning, and testing of trade-specific systems.

The estimated salary for this position is $105,300 - $128,700. In determining final salary, Seaspan considers many factors including the successful Candidate’s skills and experience as well as position location and internal equity. The final base salary offer will be at the Company’s sole discretion and presented as part of a competitive total compensation package.
