Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Respiratory Therapist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide specialized respiratory care to patients with breathing disorders, ensuring optimal respiratory function and improving overall patient outcomes. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic clinical environment, utilizing advanced respiratory therapy techniques to support patient health and recovery.
***LOCATION*** - This is a travel contract that is located in Northern Ontario.
Responsibilities
- Assess patients’ respiratory conditions through clinical evaluation and diagnostic testing
- Develop and implement individualized respiratory care plans in collaboration with physicians and healthcare teams
- Administer treatments such as oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, and mechanical ventilation
- Monitor patient responses to therapy, adjusting treatments as necessary for safety and effectiveness
- Educate patients and their families on respiratory health, medication use, and breathing exercises
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient care activities and treatment progress
- Operate and troubleshoot respiratory equipment, ensuring proper maintenance and safety compliance
- Adhere to infection control protocols and safety standards at all times
Requirements
- Valid licensure as a Respiratory Therapist from the appropriate licensing board or authority
- Proven experience in a clinical setting providing respiratory care (preferred but not mandatory for entry-level candidates)
- Strong knowledge of respiratory anatomy, physiology, and treatment modalities
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) is highly desirable

Pay: $80.00 per hour
