Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Foot Care Nurse to provide specialized foot care services to patients in a clinical setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nursing and patient care, with a focus on foot health. This role involves assessing, treating, and educating patients on foot conditions, ensuring their comfort and well-being. The Foot Care Nurse will work closely with the Podiatrist to deliver high-quality, personalized care tailored to each patient's needs,
Duties
- Conduct comprehensive foot assessments to identify issues such as infections, ulcers, or deformities
- Perform foot treatments including trimming nail, clearing corns and callous' and wound care as needed
- Administer medications related to foot conditions following proper protocols
- Educate patients on foot hygiene, injury prevention, and proper footwear choices
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient care activities and treatment plans
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop effective care strategies
- Ensure all procedures comply with safety standards and infection control protocols
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatments accordingly to promote healing and comfort
Qualifications
- Valid nursing license with current registration in the state of practice
- Experience in patient care, preferably with a focus on podiatric or foot health
- Knowledge of medical terminology and medication administration procedures
- Strong communication skills to effectively educate and support patients
- Ability to work compassionately with diverse patient populations
- Attention to detail and adherence to safety standards in all procedures
- Certification or training in foot care nursing
