Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Dispatcher to support our Dispatch, Safety, Maintenance, and Operations teams. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can effectively manage multiple priorities.
Key Responsibilities
Dispatch
- Receive and coordinate orders from internal and external customers
- Prioritize deliveries based on urgency, routing, and importance
- Dispatch drivers, equipment, and personnel using phone and computer systems
- Monitor delivery routes and provide real-time updates (traffic, weather, road conditions)
- Maintain accurate records and enter data into dispatch systems
Operations
- Communicate daily with customers and internal teams
- Provide direction and support to drivers and production staff
Maintenance
- Coordinate with maintenance providers for scheduled and unscheduled repairs
Safety (HS&E)
- Monitor driver logs for regulatory compliance
- Support drivers in maintaining compliance standards
Other Duties
- Perform additional tasks assigned
Qualifications & Skills
- Strong English communication skills (written and verbal)
- Additional languages (Bengali, Tagalog, or Hindi) are an asset
- Experience as a dispatcher or in the trucking industry preferred
- Familiarity with transportation software (e.g., Motive, Office Track, Carriers Edge) is an asset
- Tech-savvy with strong data entry skills and attention to detail
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Self-motivated and team-oriented
- High School Diploma or post-secondary education
