Brantford Halloween Showdown
Five Nineteen Productions is hiring a seasonal, part-time coordinator to manage the 2026 Brantford Halloween Showdown—a community-wide Halloween decorating contest featuring local homes, public voting, prizes and business sponsors.
This person will take ownership of the contest’s day-to-day execution, from recruiting sponsors and participants through voting, winner announcements and final reporting.
This is a flexible, short-term role with the potential to grow as Five Nineteen Productions expands the Halloween Showdown into additional communities.
Responsibilities
- Contact local businesses to secure cash and prize sponsors.
- Maintain a clear record of sponsorship commitments, payments, prizes and required deliverables.
- Collect sponsor logos and information and ensure each sponsor receives the promised recognition.
- Recruit homeowners and encourage them to enter the contest.
- Respond to questions from participants, sponsors and voters.
- Review entries and ensure all required information and photos have been submitted.
- Maintain participant, sponsor and contest information in an organized tracker.
- Create and schedule social media content promoting registration, contestants, sponsors, voting and winners.
- Coordinate community-page, local-media and event-calendar promotion.
- Update contest information on the Halloween Showdown website.
- Prepare entries for public voting and monitor the voting period.
- Help maintain a fair and clearly communicated contest process.
- Coordinate prizes, winner notifications and sponsor recognition.
- Support the collection of properly consented email sign-ups.
- Prepare a short post-contest report covering entries, voters, sponsors, audience growth and recommendations for the following year.
The Right Person
You may be a good fit if you:
- Are organized and able to manage multiple small deadlines without constant supervision.
- Are comfortable contacting local businesses and directly asking for sponsorship support.
- Communicate professionally by email, phone and social media.
- Can write clear, natural social media posts that do not sound overly promotional.
- Are comfortable using spreadsheets, shared documents, social media scheduling tools and basic website forms.
- Can follow an established plan while identifying problems before they become urgent.
- Are dependable and responsive during the registration and voting periods.
- Have an interest in Halloween, community events, contests or local business promotion.
Experience in sponsorship sales, event coordination, community programming, marketing or social media is an asset, but not required.
Position Details
- Position: Seasonal, part-time employee
- Location: Brantford, Ontario; primarily remote, with occasional local tasks
- Compensation: $20 per hour
- Initial commitment: Approximately 25 hours across the contest season
- Schedule: Flexible, with increased activity around registration deadlines, voting and winner announcements
- Reports to: Owner, Five Nineteen Productions
- Term: Seasonal contract through the completion of the 2026 contest
Employee compensation is not dependent on the amount of sponsorship secured.
Strong performance may lead to future seasonal work and the opportunity to help expand the Halloween Showdown into additional Ontario communities.
Pay: From $20.00 per hour
Work Location: Hybrid remote in Brantford, ON (N3T)
