Position Summary
Lowerys IT is looking for an experienced Senior Network Technician to join our team. We are seeking someone with a strong technical background, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to confidently support a wide variety of users, systems, and IT environments.
The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of professional IT experience and be comfortable working independently while also collaborating with our technical team to support our customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day technical support to customers and end users
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, networking, and connectivity issues
- Support Windows desktops, laptops, servers, and related business technology
- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot workstations and peripherals
- Assist with Microsoft 365, email, user accounts, permissions, and cloud services
- Troubleshoot network infrastructure, including switches, wireless networks, firewalls, and VPNs
- Perform system maintenance, updates, deployments, and configurations
- Provide remote and onsite technical support as required
- Manage assigned support tickets and maintain timely communication with customers
- Accurately document technical work and maintain customer records
- Assist with IT projects, system upgrades, migrations, and new deployments
- Participate in occasional after-hours work when required
Qualifications
Required:
- Valid Ontario driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle
- Minimum 5 years of professional IT experience
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong knowledge of Windows desktop and server environments
Preferred/Assets:
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 suite (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive)
- Experience working in a Managed Services Provider (MSP) or client-facing IT role
- Working knowledge of networking, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls, and wireless networks
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Experience supporting business users in a professional IT environment
Working Conditions
- Primarily based in the Thunder Bay area, with occasional travel to surrounding client sites
- Rotating after-hours schedule with additional compensation
Compensation
- The position starts at $65,000 per year.
- Additional compensation will be based on experience and education
- Raises are then given based on performance and certifications acquired.
