Who We Are
wish it done Inc. is a boutique, family-owned handyman & home maintenance business operating right here in Calgary. We’re a small but growing team where your work is visible, your voice matters, and no two days look the same. We build our business on high-quality craftsmanship, creative problem-solving, and strong community connection. Our goal is to create a supportive and inclusive space for our team to thrive. Rooted in a mission to support local residents & businesses, we strive to offer them the peace of mind that their homes and businesses are in good hands so they can live and operate worry-free.
As a proud LGBTQ+ & neurodivergent owned and operated business, we are looking to grow with folks who value inclusivity, mutual respect, and a great team dynamic.
The Opportunity
We are looking for an independent, resourceful Handyperson to join us on a Part-Time basis. If you love variety, enjoy working with your hands, and want to grow alongside a close-knit family business where your work truly matters, we want to meet you!
This position starts as a flexible Part-Time role. As our client base and your responsibilities expand, this role has a direct path to develop into a full-time position. We provide all the specialized tools you need. While you will use your own reliable vehicle initially, a dedicated company vehicle will be provided as the position transitions into Full-Time.
What You’ll Do
- General Maintenance & Fixes: Perform general home maintenance, small household fixes, and basic non-licensed plumbing or electrical repairs cleanly and safely.
- Independent Projects: Take ownership of smaller-scale residential tasks, diagnosing issues and implementing clean, lasting solutions on your own.
- Team Collaboration: Team up directly with our Lead Technician to tackle larger-scale installations and more complex, bigger renovations.
- Creative Problem Solving: Use your resourcefulness to find smart, effective answers to unique issues.
- Client Care: Provide warm, friendly service to our clients, treating their homes with the utmost respect.
What You Bring
- Hands-On Skills: Solid experience with general handyman tasks, home maintenance, and comfortable operating a wide variety of power tools. We value self-taught skills, and offer plenty of learning opportunities to further develop your skills.
- Independence: The confidence to work independently on smaller-scoped projects and see them through to a polished finish.
- A Troubleshooting Mindset: A natural instinct for problem-solving. If you don’t know an answer immediately, you know how to safely investigate and ask for help. We work together, and value knowledge and information sharing in team meetings.
- Transportation: A valid driver’s license and a reliable personal vehicle to travel to our hub and between job sites (mileage reimbursement). Fleet vehicle will be provided once role transitions to full-time.
- Value Alignment: A community-minded attitude, an eagerness to learn, and a genuine desire to grow alongside a family business.
What’s In It For You (Perks & Benefits)
- Competitive Pay: $31/hour to start plus benefits.
- True Work-Life Balance: You can choose your weekday availability or Saturday if desired. We will build a schedule with your availability in mind.
- Mileage Compensation: Full mileage reimbursement (at CRA regulated rate) for using your personal vehicle to travel between job sites.
- Paid Time Off: 3 weeks of paid vacation time in addition to paid holidays.
- Group Savings: A TFSA matching program up to 3% of your income to help you build a safety net, save for a downpayment, or further your education.
- Health & Wellness: A monthly benefit budget (HCSA) to use toward your health, wellness, and medical needs.
- A Clear Future: A structured path to full-time hours and a provided company vehicle as you grow with us.
Please note:
This is a physically active role involving regular lifting, kneeling, and varied working conditions. We support our team’s physical wellbeing and take workload seriously.
