Roles
Sewer flushing- is a process of cleaning out the sewer pipes by using high-pressure water streams. This is done to remove debris, sediments, and other build-ups clogging the pipes
Hydro excavation- combines high-pressure water an air vacuum. This system cuts through the soils and breaks it up. The vacuum then lifts the slurry from the excavation area. To safely locate and minimize ground disturbance of (Communications, electrical, water, storm, sewer and gas lines).
Pipe patching and relining- Is a trenchless rehabilitation method used to repair existing pipelines. It involves inserting a resin-saturated felt tube into the damaged pipe, which is then inflated and cured to form a tight-fitting, seamless, and corrosion-resistant pipe within the old one.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with a team in a fast-paced environment with fellow team members, supervisors, and management
- Work in a safe manner and follow provincial Worker Health & Safety Standards under the applicable Provincial Occupational Health & Safety Act.
- Operate Vehicles requiring a Class 3 License, (1 ton pickup with or without trailer, Flusher, CCTV Truck, Vactor, Combo unit and Hydro-Vac). Including pre-trip inspections and driver logs
- Pull flusher nozzles out of manholes
- Load and unload materials, tools and equipment for multiple location set-ups per day
- Perform a variety of tasks involving dexterous use of hands and tools
- Operate various tools and equipment including but not limited to picks, shovels, power tools, saws and drills
- Perform job site clean-up and maintain job site free of hazards
- Safely operate Hydrovac truck and equipment to perform non-destructive excavation using high-pressure water and vacuum systems
- Conduct daylighting (utility exposure), slot trenching, potholing, piling hole excavation, tank clean-outs, and other hydrovac tasks on both rural and urban job sites
- Monitor job site conditions and make real-time adjustments to ensure safe and effective excavation
- Other duties as assigned and as related to the role
Requirements
- Class 1 or 3 driver's license with a clean abstract
- Construction and/or underground infrastructure experience is an asset
- Able to travel for short periods and work overtime as needed
- Pay rate will vary according to experience and licensing
