Skid Steer Operator – Finish Work

We’re looking for a skilled Skid Steer Operator who takes pride in finish work and has a sharp eye for grade. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working closely with ground crews to deliver clean, accurate surfaces for asphalt and concrete placement on civil and municipal projects.

The Role
Reporting to the Site Foreman, you’ll work closely with ground crews and other operators to shape, place, and finish material to precise grades. This is a hands-on position focused on high-quality finish work rather than just bulk excavation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate a skid steer to finish gravel to tight tolerances for asphalt paving and concrete placement
- Work collaboratively with ground crews to achieve accurate grades and smooth surfaces
- Maintain grade tolerance and surface quality throughout the project
- Assist with general ground work and support other crew members as needed
- Operate equipment safely and efficiently at all times
- Participate in daily toolbox talks and safety meetings
- Report any unsafe conditions or near misses immediately
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Skid Steer Operator, with proven finish grading experience
- Strong ability to consistently hit tight grade tolerances (within 10–15 mm)
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail
- Strong safety awareness and jobsite awareness
- Valid certifications: CSTS 2020 and Ground Disturbance Level 2
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and reliable transportation
- Physically fit and able to work long hours and weekends when required
Asset: Experience operating other equipment (excavator, loader, etc.)
