Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Journeyperson Plumber to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive knowledge of plumbing systems, construction, and maintenance, with the ability to interpret blueprints and schematics. This role involves installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing infrastructure across various commercial and residential projects. The Journeyperson Plumber will ensure all work complies with safety standards and building codes, contributing to the successful completion of projects on time and within scope.
Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems including pipes, fixtures, and appliances in accordance with project specifications and safety standards
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine layout and installation procedures
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other specialized tools to complete tasks efficiently
- Perform heavy lifting of materials and equipment as required for installation or repairs
- Conduct routine inspections of plumbing systems to identify issues and perform preventative maintenance
- Collaborate with construction teams, HVAC technicians, carpenters, and other trades to ensure seamless project execution
- Adhere to all safety protocols and building codes during all phases of work
- Document work performed and report progress or issues to supervisors
Experience
- Proven experience as a Journeyperson Plumber or in a similar role within construction or maintenance environments
- Strong mechanical knowledge including HVAC systems, welding, schematics reading, and blueprint interpretation
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and assembly techniques
- Familiarity with basic math skills necessary for measurements and calculations during installations
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in various work conditions
- Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and industry best practices in plumbing installation and repair
- Prior experience working with schematics and technical drawings is highly preferred
