About Us
We are a growing renovation company specializing primarily in residential projects, including basement renovations, kitchens, bathrooms, and full home renovations throughout the GTA. We also occasionally work on commercial interior projects.
We are looking for a designer who enjoys both design thinking and real-world project execution, and who wants to see their ideas become built projects.
Role Overview
This is a part-time role (2-3 days per week) focused primarily on residential renovation projects.
The ideal candidate will be involved in the early design process, helping clients visualize possibilities, develop concepts, select materials, and communicate design ideas clearly.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working closely with clients, developing practical design solutions, and contributing to both project design and company branding
Key Responsibilities
Design & Client Support
- Develop design concepts based on client needs and project requirements
- Prepare mood boards, concept presentations, and visual references
- Assist clients with material selections, finishes, and design decisions
- Participate in client meetings and help communicate design ideas clearly
- Create visualizations and renderings to support project presentations
Project Support
- Develop space planning concepts and layouts
- Support residential renovation projects including basements, kitchens, bathrooms, and full home renovations
- Assist with small commercial projects when required
- Conduct site visits when necessary
Branding & Content
- Help develop visual content for social media, website, and marketing materials
- Assist in building and maintaining the company's design style and material library
Qualifications
QualificationsRequired:
- Experience in residential interior design, renovation, kitchen, millwork, or design-build environments preferred (1-5 years of experience encouraged)
- Strong interest in residential space planning, design concepts, and material selections
- Ability to understand client needs and translate them into practical design solutions
- Comfortable communicating and presenting design ideas to clients
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks
- Proficiency in SketchUp, AutoCAD, Revit, Twinmotion, Enscape, or similar design software
- Fluent English communication skills
Assets:
- Cantonese and/or Mandarin
- Experience with residential renovations, kitchens, bathrooms, or basement projects
- Experience with small commercial interior projects
- Familiarity with AI-assisted visualization workflows
- Basic understanding of residential construction methods and materials
Work Environment
- Part-time position (minimum 2- 3 days per week)
- Hybrid/on-site based in Scarborough, Ontario
- Flexible schedule based on project needs
