Foxy Box Laser + Wax Bar in Downtown Victoria is looking for an energetic, client-focused individual to join our team in a unique full-time hybrid Wax Technician and Receptionist position.
This role is perfect for someone who loves variety and wants to be involved in both sides of the client experience. You’ll spend approximately 3 days per week performing waxing services and 2 days per week working at our front desk, helping keep the studio running smoothly and creating an amazing experience from the moment clients walk through the door.

What You’ll Do
As a Wax Technician — Approximately 3 Days Per Week
- Receive in-house training
- Perform professional body waxing services according to Foxy Box protocols and standards
- Provide thorough consultations and create a comfortable, welcoming experience for every client
- Maintain the highest standards of sanitation, cleanliness, and safety
- Maintain accurate client records and service notes
- Educate clients on aftercare and recommend appropriate retail products
- Build strong relationships with clients and support client retention
- Stay up to date on services, products, protocols, and industry knowledge
- Provide inclusive services to clients of all genders
- Please note: Foxy Box is a gender-neutral wax and laser bar. Technicians must be comfortable providing inclusive body waxing services and willing to be trained in our 40-minute Brazilian service for clients with penises.
As a Receptionist — Approximately 2 Days Per Week
- Create a warm, upbeat, and welcoming experience for every client
- Manage bookings, phone calls, client questions, check-ins, and check-outs
- Keep the flow of the studio moving comfortably and efficiently
- Assist clients with service and product recommendations
- Support retail sales and studio promotions
- Handle client concerns professionally and confidently
- Use strong problem-solving and de-escalation skills when needed
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional front desk and reception area
- Support the team with day-to-day studio operations

Qualifications
Minimum 1 year of customer service experience required
Minimum 1 year of sales experience required
Previous waxing, aesthetics, beauty industry, retail, or reception experience is preferred
Previous body waxing experience is an asset but not required for the right candidate
Level 1 BeautySafe Certification is required or must be obtained as a condition of employment
Strong understanding of sanitation and safety practices
Excellent verbal communication and client service skills
Reliable transportation and the ability to commute to Downtown Victoria

Schedule
This is a full-time, 5-day-per-week hybrid position, with the typical schedule consisting of:
3 days per week as a Wax Technician
2 days per week at Reception
Candidates must have flexible availability, including daytime, evening, and weekend shifts.
