Robotics camps at OAKLearning Center provide co-educational opportunities to develop essential life skills among participants. Our camp programs emphasize on inspiring campers’ interests in STEM through building and programming robots and developing collaboration and communication in a fun environment!
As Camp Head Instructor, you will be responsible for providing the lead instruction in the program as well as overseeing the work of other instructors/assistants, if any, in order to ensure a safe, productive and enjoyable experience for all campers.
Specific Accountabilities:
· Plan, execute and supervise the camp programs
· Instruct and lead activities with campers and other supporting staff
· Create schedules for activities that allow for the highest quality experience and ensures flexibility needed
· Follow and ensure camp procedures and policies to ensure the safety of all campers
· Manage and problem solve issues with campers, staff and volunteers
· Ensure all staff receives the proper training related to health and safety when needed
· Ensure the safety and supervision of all campers, staff and visitors
Knowledge and Skills:
· Minimum completion of 2nd year Computer Science or Software engineering University level programs or equivalent experience in Robotics or Computer Science or Software Engineering or any other Technology and Automation programs is a must.
· Proven competence in instructional abilities in program area and in ensuring appropriate balance of fun, education & skill development.
· Previous experience as a camp instructor or counselor.
· Proven abilities in supervising junior level staff. Completion of a leadership program is an asset.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Excellent time management and organizational skills
· Team oriented, motivational and creative
· Energetic and enthusiastic
· Demonstrates effective problem-solving skills
· Standard First Aid and CPR – C or higher will be an asset.
· Bronze Cross and/or NLS certification in lifeguarding is an asset
Workplace Requirements:
· Successful candidates must attend the required training session prior to the start of camps
· As a condition of employment, a criminal record check with a vulnerable sector screening is required
· Valid Standard First Aid and CPR – C is required
OAKLearning Robotic Camps provide the highest quality of instruction to campers in a fast paced and challenging work environment. Compensation is dependent on experience and qualifications.
