Senior Accounting Manager

We are a Calgary-based construction company specializing in commercial products and finishes, delivering award‑winning facilities across Alberta. We are seeking a Senior Accounting Manager to lead accounting and financial reporting for multiple entities in a fast‑paced construction environment.
This is a full-time, permanent, salaried position based on-site in Calgary, Monday to Friday.
The Role
Reporting to executive leadership, you will oversee full-cycle accounting and financial reporting for five related entities, working with both Percentage of Completion and Completed Contract accounting methods. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and sound judgment. You are a team player and have strong people skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close and reporting processes (QuickBooks and construction software)
- Prepare and review financial statements and supporting working papers
- Oversee full-cycle accounting, including capital assets, payroll, and banking
- Lead and support the Accounts Payable function, including payment runs and banking administration
- Prepare project billings and support accounts receivable collections
- Ensure compliance with Canadian regulatory requirements, internal controls, and best practices
- Manage GST filings, payroll processing, and statutory remittances
- Monitor cash flow, budgeting, forecasting, and liquidity
- Coordinate year-end compilations and reviews with external accountants
- Prepare CRA information returns (T4, T5, T5018)
- Maintain construction prequalification platforms
- Partner with operations and executive leadership to provide financial insight and decision support
- Manage relationships with the bank, accountants, and legal advisors
- Administer and manage the employee benefits program
Qualifications
- Previous progressive accounting experience (construction experience preferred)
- CPA designation strongly preferred
- Experience with capital accounting, payroll, cash flow management, and people leadership
- Strong Excel skills; experience with construction accounting software an asset

Pay: $68,978.35-$90,000.00 per year
